Mary Scholtes, 97, of Overland Park, KS passed away on March 24, 2015 and was carried by the Angels into the loving arms of her Lord to whom she prayed faithfully every day of her life.
Born in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Italian immigrants, she was a woman of strong will and opinion but soft of heart, which ideally suited her as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a Red Cross volunteer including service as a Grey Lady at KU Medical Center, member of the Legion...

Mary Scholtes, 97, of Overland Park, KS passed away on March 24, 2015 and was carried by the Angels into the loving arms of her Lord to whom she prayed faithfully every day of her life.
Born in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Italian immigrants, she was a woman of strong will and opinion but soft of heart, which ideally suited her as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a Red Cross volunteer including service as a Grey Lady at KU Medical Center, member of the Legion of Mary, Rockhurst Circle and Queens Ladies. She also made the best cookies, pies and cakes enjoyed by many.
Mary is preceded in death and united with her husband of 62 years, John, who died in 1998. She is survived by sons Loren Scholtes (Barbara) of Kingwood, TX and Gary "Rusty" Scholtes of Overland Park; grandchildren Dianne Reed (JP) of Houston, Steven Scholtes (Judith) of Houston, Bret Scholtes (Anna) of Houston and Justin Scholtes (Lauren) of Overland Park; and great grandchildren, Madelyn, Elizabeth, Skyler, Reid and Catherine.
She touched lives and was loved by so many.
Visitation will be 9-10am, Monday, March 30, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10am, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st St, Overland Park, KS 66204. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mary's name.
