Diane Marie (Swanson) Dickson, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Diane was born on January 18, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. She was the second of five siblings. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and Church until 1965 when the family moved to El Dorado, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1973. Diane Marie (Swanson) Dickson, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Diane was born on January 18, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. She was the second of five siblings. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and Church until 1965 when the family moved to El Dorado, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1973. In High School, Diane was very active in Kayettes and served on the organization's board in her senior year. In 1974, the family moved back to Overland Park, KS and Diane attended Johnson County Community College.

She was married to Jack Dickson in 1975 and has two daughters, Erin Cobb, and Amanda Bormann. During their early marriage they moved many times. Diane lived in Emporia; St. Joe, Mo; Cape Girardo, Mo; Vermont; and Plano, Tx. Diane returned to the Kansas City area in 1998 to be closer to family due to health reasons. In 1999, she moved into Evergreen Community and that has been her home until her death.

She is survived by daughters Erin (Adam) Cobb and Amanda (Craig) Bormann; parents William & Nadine Swanson; siblings Patti (Bill) Geckles, Bill (Vicky) Swanson, Karen (Dave) Gregory, David (Katy) Swanson; and lots of loving family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Tuesday, June 20th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OP, KS followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Rosary will be at 9:30 am at the church prior to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Community of Johnson County or Evergreen Hospice Care, LLC.
