Beverly Ann Reeder, age 64, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was born on July 17, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Donald and Shirley Reeder. Beverly lived most of her life in Overland Park, attended Shawnee Mission North High School and completed some courses at Johnson County Community College. She later completed 25 years working for the U.S. Treasury Department processing claims for treasury recipients and she retired in 2004.

Beverly loved to travel, taking trips to Colorado and the southern states, as well as a trip to Amsterdam and England. Bev was an avid fan of the Chiefs and Royals, attended many games, and was very knowledgeable about all the players and their stats. Her other interests were of the Native American culture and history, the environment, and she passionately supported the American Humane Society and the Sierra Club.

Beverly is survived by her mother, Shirley Reeder; sister, Barbara Stoker (Charles); and brother, Steven Reeder. Beverly also had many nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews whom she very dearly loved.

Beverly will be missed by all who admired her independent spirit, her great attitude and her zest for life. A special thanks to the wonderful staff of Phoenix Home Healthcare who assisted with Bev's needs for several years and provided great support for her.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, March 25th, from 3-5 pm, at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the animal shelter of your choice. Condolences may be left online at www.mcgilleyhoge.com. Arrangements by, McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park, KS 66204.
